What is MetroConnect?
The MetroConnect Network is a unique collaboration among Detroit-area public school academies, community-based organizations, educational institutions and local businesses. MetroConnect members work together in cooperative ways to provide students, parents and residents throughout the region, numerous opportunities to participate in academic, recreational and computer-based enrichment activities. Our work is funded in part under a U.S. Department of Education 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant.. Project members also provide in-kind funding and services through each of their respective organizations.
MetroConnect consists of three main programming components:
ACE, SOAR and TAP.

|
ACE Academic Competency through Enrichment

|
SOAR Sports and Organized After school Recreation
SOAR programs provide a variety of recreational and sports activities for students including basketball, soccer, golf, karate, dance, music, and art, just to name a few.
|
TAP Technology Access Push
TAP programs operate at each public school academy site providing students, parents and residents with community-access to the Internet, as well as training workshops in how to use a computer.
